I recently shared six key style tips with the women who serve along with their sons in the Young Men's Service League of Plano, and now I'd like to share them with you!
Tip #1: Your wardrobe should be a reflection of your lifestyle.
Tip #2: Carry your best handbag and wear your best shoes. People often look at your handbag and your shoes as a measure of your 'overall' look, which is the reason it's so important to pay attention to these items.
Tip #3: Don't leave home without earrings and lipstick. You can conquer the world with these two items.
Tip #4: Accessorizing can propel an outfit from ordinary to extraordinary. As Clairee Belcher, played by Olympia Dukakis, said in the movie Steel Magnolias, "The only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize."
Tip #5: When in doubt, leave it out. Whether you're contemplating your next purchase or your next outfit, if you are hesitant, listen to your inner voice.
Tip #6: Ugly clothes don’t go on any faster than cute clothes (I’ve timed it, I know.). Life is too short – or, perhaps, too long – to wear ugly clothes.
